What is there to do in York in Summer?
Make the most of the morning and evening
Mornings and evenings are stunning in summer. We find these times are so beautiful to take in the golden hues of summer fields, hay stacks and our big skies.
Go for an early morning walk, enjoy a summer barbecue, watch the moon rise over Mount Brown with a cold beer, have some dinner and listen to some live music at one of York’s pubs, take an evening picnic by the river …
Take a break in the heat of the day
Slow down in air-conditioned comfort - read a book, play cards, listen to some tunes and just hang out together.
Go adventuring - York and surrounds have some cool museums and places to go that have air-conditioning and will be cool on a hot summer’s day. The York Residency Museum, The York Motor Museum, The York Town Hall are all worth a visit if they pique your interest. You could also take a trip to Northam and check out the beautiful Bilya Koort Boodja - the interactive educational experience that recognises the rich Aboriginal and environmental presence in the Nyoongar Ballardong region.
Go swimming - The York Pool is a cool, retro pool with grassed areas - we love it. Open every day from 1pm to 6pm. Northam Aquatic Centre has pool slides galore and is worth a visit with kids - note the slides are open from 11am but please check before heading to Northam.
Hang out in our gucci blow up pool! Who doesn’t love an inflatable pool! Grab a vino, cold beer or your cold beverage of choice and fill up our designer inflatable Pool Buoy for some good retro fun!
