It’s Wildflower Time…
As you’ve probably guessed, at Sunny Hill we love flowers. Native and garden flowers - we love them all.
There are still the most magnificent views of canola fields surrounding York in late August - driving to Northam the other day was just jaw droppingly stunning. So this is an incredible reason to come to York and the Avon Valley at this time of the year.
However we’ve also noticed the yellow wildflowers are beginning - they’re usually the first bush colours of the season.
August and September are known as the Djilba season in Noongar culture - it’s a time when the bright yellow Acacia flowers shine bright and speak of the beautiful flowers to come.
So it’s a time to drive slowly and notice all the new beginnings of spring in the bush.
